DAILY PRACTICE
Using up my materials and not creating waste is an important goal of my creative practice. Finding ways to make art each day is also a goal. A daily practice (when I can) helps me stay grounded and is helpful for processing emotions. I randomly pull scraps from my scrap bin each morning and use those to create a daily postcard on watercolor paper. As with most of my collages, I never know what the final result will be since I am working intuitively, picking papers and colors as I go. It is meant to be a fun, free-flowing creative exercise without pressure or concern about the outcome. I sell packs of them in my shop upon occasion and also reuse them as thank you cards, notes to friends, artist trading cards, and for Postcards For Voters so that I don’t end up with a huge pile!
